A Thousand Splendid Suns was awarded the Richard & Judy Best Read of the Year 2008, and the 2008 Book Sense book of the year award for fiction.   The film of The Kite Runner was nominated for three BAFTAs in 2007 for Adapted Screenplay, Film not in the English Language and Music. In September 2011, Bloomsbury published a graphic novel version of The Kite Runner and reissued the book in paperback.
