Fishery Biology is primarily intended to serve as both a textbook for the graduate/postgraduate courses and a reference book for researchers teachers and fishery biologists. Teachers imparting advanced teaching will get contemporary view of the topics they teach in this area. It is also a much sought-after subject of specialization at PG level at Indian universities. Comprehensive treatment of fishery aspect of fish biology by Indian authors is hardly available in book form. It is one of the factors impeding the updating of syllabus.
